WHAT IS A PVC ROOF SYSTEM?

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a trusted membrane that has been providing decades of waterproofing protection in Europe and North America. PVC’s popularity stems from its dependable, heat-welded seams, high reflectivity, superior physical attributes and resistance to water, chemicals, grease, fire and punctures.

PVC ROOF SYSTEM BENEFITS

01 / PVC is highly resistant to tears, impacts, and punctures to ensure the service life of the roof maintains its longevity.

02 / PVC is incredibly resistant to chemicals, chemical fumes, grease, acids, oils, and many kinds of fuels. This is a huge benefit for more industrial applications and environments needing the extra protection PVC provides.

03 / PVC is considered “cool” as a result of it's white color which makes it reflective and resistant to the sun’s heat and ultraviolet rays. Buildings with reflective roofs can stay cooler inside and save on air conditioning costs.

WHAT IS A TPO ROOF SYSTEM?

Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) is a single-ply reflective roofing membrane made from polyprophylene and ethylene-propylene rubber polymerized together. It is typically installed in a fully adhered or mechanically attached system, allowing the white membrane to remain exposed throughout the life of the roof.

TPO ROOF SYSTEM BENEFITS

01 / TPO is highly resistant to tears, impacts, and punctures yet remains flexible to allow for building movement.

02 / TPO’s flexibility allows for a rapid installation and requires little maintenance throughout its life. TPO membranes are commonly fully adhered or mechanically attached to the underlying insulation or cover board.

03 / A light colored roof that reflects the sun’s energy can play a significant role in reducing the buildings cooling costs. It also offers benefits to the surrounding environment through a reduction of the urban heat island (UHI) effect.
